Sock Kitty Cake Stand

Here’s a pic of my latest Sock Cat creations made from my newest batch of trainer sock purchases.  I quite like the way that the heel of one sock makes a frame for their faces whilst the heel from the other forms a squidgy bottom!

Most of these kitties are wearing bows around their necks from ribbons available at Dizzy Izzy Supplies and their felted features are recycled felt available from The Felted Rainbow – both are great shops to browse for supplies.

If you fancy a kitty for yourself or as a present for someone else, some of them are available to purchase from my OddSox Folksy shop.

Thanks for looking. 🙂

Sock Cats Sitting Pretty

Last week one of my customers asked if I could make her a black and white Sock Cat as a Christmas gift and maybe a couple extra to put in her cake shop (more on the cake shop in another post!) – anyway, here’s the first batch…and here’s the inspiration for the ‘sitting’ effect (not quite the same I know)…

…my lovely cat Tog. I think he’s much cuter than the sock cats, although they do look pleasingly cheeky from behind!

I’ll definitely be making more of these and will list some in my Folksy shop in the new year.

Have a good week. 🙂

Cat Swap

I’ve just finished taking part in a really fun Cat Swap that was organised by Chrissy from ‘I Love Spoilt Pig’.

Our swap had to include a minimum of one handmade themed item for our swap partner or their cat! and also something for them to use in a crafty way (didn’t have to be cat related).

Here’s the lovely batch of pressies I received from Vicki – she has 3 cats and a puppy and produces some cool artwork that you can see on her DeviantART site. She sent me a fabulous cat print and a stack of wooden buttons and Tog (my tabby cat) has a new Kitty friend – Patch…

Tog and Patch snuggle up

Cashmere (the cat from next door) whispers ‘come & live with me not Tog’

And these are the things I sent to Vicki – A sock cat called Kooky, a DIY Sock Monster kit and a squeaky sock mouse for her kits to play with.

Great fun – thanks for all the organising you did Chrissy!
