Car Boot Bargains

I had a little trip off to a car boot sale this morning and managed to get a few more additions to my yarn and thread collection for the princely sum of £3.50

Amongst the haul was a lovely ball of sea green mohair, a hank of something purple and rope-like, a muddle of silky ribbon – there were even a few wooden bobbins and a darning mushroom!

Love the stuff, but what is a car boot sale? I know that a car boot is what we call a car trunk, but we don’t have any car trunk sales. How does it work?

They’re very popular here and it’s a great way to get rid of all the clutter and make a few pence at the same time. I guess it’s like a yard sale except everyone does it together in one place from the back of their cars 🙂
