Which Nursery Rhyme? Folksy Friday

I set myself a challenge for Folksy Friday this week. I chose a popular Nursery Rhyme and then went off to Folksy to see if I could find 6 items to illustrate it with. And yes, of course I could – Folksy has everything!

Sixpence Pendant

Blackbird Linocut

Strawberry Felt Pie

Money Monster

Honey Brooch

Dolly Pegs

  1. Lucky Sixpence pendant – Jupiter Rocks
  2. Lino Print Blackbird Card – The Home Press
  3. Strawberry Felt Pie – Pipinopolis
  4. Money Monster – Sew Everything
  5. Honey brooch – Lynwood Crafts
  6. Dolly Pegs – Ticketty Boo

I’m sure you’ll have guessed that the Nursery Rhyme is:

Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Oh wasn’t that a dainty dish to set before the king?
The king was in his counting house counting out his money,
The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey
The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose!

Happy Friday to you all. x

Love it! I have an obsession with dolly pegs although currently no washing machine so not much laundry to hang out!

    Well done, very clever theme,
